Yoga…it’s more than the poses

Gentle, Chair, Yin, Beginner Yoga there is something for everyone!

Yoga that Reaches Hearts

Kripalu Yoga

I teach yoga that is based on the Kripalu lineage, this is a type of yoga that can be adapted to meet anyone! I trained and learned Kripalu Yoga at the Kripalu Center in western Massachusetts. Kripalu Yoga originated from Swami Kripalu, a renunciate from India that was given the name that translates as “compassion”.

The yoga I guide is about moving your body with mindfulness and awareness to look inwards. It’s about seeing yourself through the eyes of care and kindness. It’s about building community, whether it’s a class online or in person, the group holds the motivation and wisdom!

The Styles of Yoga I Teach:

Yin Yoga: The Retreats and Workshops include Yin Yoga. This is a restorative style of yoga that works deep into the connective for stretching and lengthening. The poses are done on the ground and held for longer periods of time for their meditative benefits. This is a perfect style of yoga to help you relax in nature!

Gentle Yoga: I teach Gentle Yoga in the Online Studio, it’s a style that has dynamic movement and static holds for strength and balance. Gentle Yoga is great for a weekly practice because you are invited to participate at your own pace and nourish yourself through yoga poses and breathing exercises.

Beginning Yoga: I offer Beginning Yoga through Sierra College Community Education in Nevada County. This is a class series that explores the foundations of a yoga practice. I teach these classes with attention placed on moving at slow place to notice, feel, and develop body awareness. I also have a free online Intro to Yoga course, you can Click Here to sign up and start your practice today!

Chair Yoga: This is a 30 min class offered in the Online Studio and it’s a class for beginners as well or anyone that would like a short break to breath and move! Chair Yoga includes poses done sitting in the chair and standing poses that use the chair to help with balance and stability.
